Digital craft for ambitious prairie businesses.

We design and build websites, e-commerce stores, CRMs and AI automations for businesses across Winnipeg and Canada — work that's considered, measurable, and made to last.

Studio focus

Built like a product, marketed like a brand.

Every site we ship is engineered for Core Web Vitals, written for search intent, and structured for Google's rich results — out of the gate.

What we do

Six disciplines, one studio.

We work end-to-end so the brand, the build and the growth strategy actually talk to each other. Pick a service or stack several — the handoffs disappear.

How we work

A small process — used religiously.

Four phases. No bloat. Predictable enough that you know what's happening every week, flexible enough to handle real business decisions as they show up.

  1. 01
    Discover

We sit with the business, the audience and the metrics that matter — then write the brief together so there's no surprise scope mid-flight.

  2. 02
    Define

Information architecture, content frameworks, and a visual direction. Everything decided before a pixel is pushed or a line of code shipped.

  3. 03
    Build

Designed and engineered in parallel — quick reviews, weekly demos, and code you can read. Performance, SEO and accessibility are non-negotiables.

  4. 04
    Grow

Launch is day one. We measure, iterate, run campaigns and add automations as the business learns what's actually working.

Kind words

From founders who trusted us with the work.

The strongest signal in a service business is whether clients call you back. Ours do.

Prairie Web Lab rebuilt our site from the ground up. Page speed went through the roof and our lead form started actually getting filled out. Honest, clear partners.

Frequently asked

Real answers, not sales copy.

What people usually ask before booking a call. Don't see your question? Send it over — we read every message.

  • What does Prairie Web Lab actually do?

We're a Winnipeg digital studio that designs and builds websites, e-commerce stores, CRM systems, AI chatbots and workflow automations for ambitious Canadian businesses. Most clients come to us for a custom Next.js or WordPress site, then expand into marketing or automation work over time.

  • How much does a website from Prairie Web Lab cost?

A small marketing site typically starts around CA$3,500. Larger product or e-commerce builds run CA$8,000–25,000+. Every project gets a fixed-scope quote after a free consultation — no hourly surprises.

  • How long does a typical website take?

A focused 5–8 page marketing site ships in 3–5 weeks. E-commerce stores and CRM integrations usually run 6–10 weeks. We share weekly demos and a staging URL throughout so you always know what we're shipping next.

  • Do you work with clients outside Winnipeg?

Yes. We're based in Winnipeg, MB but we work remotely with clients across Canada, the US and the UK. Most of our process is async (Loom + Figma + a shared Notion), with weekly live calls when it helps.

  • Will I own the website and the code?

Always. Code lives in your GitHub, your domain stays in your registrar, and your hosting account is yours. We hand off documentation at launch and you can leave at any time — nothing is locked to our infrastructure.

  • Do you handle ongoing SEO and content after launch?

Yes. We offer a monthly care + growth retainer covering technical SEO, content production, performance monitoring and conversion experiments. It's optional — many clients take the build, then come back for marketing later.
